Why Li-Po?

You might be wondering why are we using Li-Po batteries instead of Li-Ion?

The answer is very simple. Lithium polymer batteries have a greater discharge rate. This means that they can provide enough electric current for our four motors.
They are relatively small and light for the energy they are able to store (compared to Li-Ion batteries). This combination allows us to achieve speeds in excess of 100 km/h (60 MPH)
and a cruising range of over 25 km (15 miles), while keeping the Nextboard’s weight under 10 kg (22 lbs).

For comparison a similarly sized Li-Ion battery would provide barely half of the required discharge rate and a significantly shorter cruising range. Because of these limitations,
Li-Ion batteries at the moment aren’t suitable for high-performance applications where weight and size is a big concern.

The Nextboard is safe to use with standard Li-Po batteries (mostly used for drones) ranging from 4S to 12S (14.8V to 44.4V).
